Chicago in winter, seen from across the water.
For Winter Quiet I placed the familiar form of the John Hancock Center against a skyline softened by the season. Bare trees trace the shoreline while the surrounding buildings recede into pale washes of grey, leaving the tower as the quiet anchor of the scene.
The piece holds onto a different side of the city and our connection to it. The familiar cold air, muted light, and the stillness that settles along the lakefront in winter.
Presented in a warm white matting and Gallery Black wood frame, Winter Quiet is a one-of-a-kind work from the Stoney Bend Originals collection.
