Rooted in Michigan

Michigan is home and where Stoney Bend began. Much of my work remains rooted in the shoreline towns, historic harbors, and quiet inland places that make up Michigan.

The Michigan Collection is a growing body of artwork inspired by the Great Lakes and places people return to year after year.

Art that captures the meaningful places of Michigan --- from the rolling hills of Leelanau Peninsula to the bustling streets of Traverse City and historic Michigan Lighthouses along the Great Lakes shore.

Available at select galleries and shops throughout Northern Michigan.

The Gallery

A curated selection of original ink and watercolor artwork inspired by places both familiar and imagined.

Some of the places are landmarks, and some are ordinary streets or places nearly forgotten. Each piece is a place with a story worth capturing.

The Stories Behind the Places

Every place has a story. Some are rooted in history and others in memory. And some simply begin with noticing something worth remembering.

The Bend is a collection of Place Stories and Studio Essays that explore the places, ideas, and observations that inspire the artwork.
